Community Teaching Circle with Carolynne Crawley

Carolynne Crawley, will share about the teachings that have guided her since a young child to connect and support her relationship with all beings. She will share ways that guide people to build responsible and reciprocal relations with Mother Earth, along with ways to deepen this relationship.

“Indigenous peoples around the Earth deeply understand the interwoven relationships between all beings.  Indigenous Elders speak of the individual and collective responsibility we all have to be in a healthy and reciprocal relationship with Mother Earth.  This is more important now than any time in history.    As we witness and experience the impacts of a climate crisis/extreme weather, wars/conflicts and injustices, often governments and corporations move slowly to make any change.  We need to be the change as it starts with each and every one of us. "Indigenous people only make up about 5% of the world's population, yet protect 80% of the world's biodiversity."“ - Carolynne Crawley

Carolynne Crawley, founder of Msit No’kmaq, is Mi'kmaw, Black and Irish. She is from Mi’kma’ki territory also known today as Nova Scotia. But Tkaronto has been her home for the past fifty years. She is the founder of Msit No’kmaq, an initiative dedicated to reconnecting people with the land, waters, and all beings through land-based teachings. Carolynne is also the founder of Turtle Protectors, a community-led initiative developed in collaboration with Indigenous Elders and community members to protect and advocate for turtle relatives.
