Jepriya Sayanthan (she/her) is a settler of Eelam Tamil descent. Her diasporic identity and roots ground her work and commitment to community care, cultural identity, and intergenerational healing.

She holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Public Health with a specialization in Indigenous Health from the University of Toronto. Jepriya has supported the Métis Nation of Ontario Healing and Wellness Branch, focusing on Métis-specific health and community well-being initiatives.

Jepriya's research interests explore the intersectionality of cultural identity and holistic health, with a focus on diasporic health, decolonial approaches to wellness, and addressing gaps in healthcare and health systems. She is especially interested in community-led frameworks that center relationality, collective healing, and culturally grounded practices.

As a Research Assistant at the Weaving Wellness Centre, she supports research centered on Indigenous mental health and wellness.
