Nicole Prisciak

Associate | Social Worker

Nicole (she/her) is a dedicated and compassionate Métis social worker, originally from Barrie, Ontario, and a proud member of the Métis Nation of Ontario. Her maternal roots trace back to the Red River Settlement in Winnipeg, where her mother grew up, and her father brings Irish and Scottish heritage as a first-generation Canadian. Nicole holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto, specializing in Indigenous Trauma and Resiliency, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from McMaster University. She has also completed diplomas in Addictions Treatment and Prevention and Children’s Mental Health from Georgian College. Nicole is a registered member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.

In her practice, Nicole is committed to providing a person-centered and trauma-informed approach. She believes that therapy is not about "fixing" people but about helping individuals recognize and harness their strengths for everyday life. Nicole works to create a balanced approach, integrating mental, spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being. She incorporates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to address issues such as emotion regulation, anxiety, depression, and addictions, empowering clients to build resilience and find harmony within themselves. Nicole specializes in supporting Indigenous individuals and young adults.
