Jordyn Garner
Associate & Clinical Lead | Social Worker
Jordyn (she/her) was born and raised in her historic community along the shores of Georgian Bay and is a proud citizen of the Métis Nation of Ontario. She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work within the Indigenous field of study program from Wilfrid Laurier, a Bachelor of Social Work from Lakehead University and a Bachelor of Arts Honors in Sociology and Canadian Studies. Jordyn holds the title of Adjunct Lecturer at the Factor-Inwentash, Faculty of Social Work at University of Toronto.
Jordyn is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and the Alberta College of Social Workers. Her practice is rooted in both wholistic Indigenous world views and contemporary social work practices.
Jordyn primarily provides a client centred, strength based approach and trauma informed model of care to walking with clients along their healing journeys. Jordyn is trained to provide evidence based Cognitive Behavior Therapy and has further certifications in Exposure and Response Prevention for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, General Anxiety Disorder and Depression as well as Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy. Jordyn offers a blend of western based modalities while weaving and blending Indigenous ways of knowing, teachings and culture into the care she provides.
