Associate | Social Worker

Courtney (she/her) is a Black Canadian with British and West Indian ancestry. She holds a Master of Arts (MA) from the University of Waterloo, as well as a Master of Social Work (MSW) from York University, and is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.

Courtney strives to create a calm, supportive, and welcoming space for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Her approach to therapy is collaborative, transparent, and person-centered. She encourages clients to advocate for their needs, set boundaries in their lives, and develop individualized coping strategies. She recognizes that mental health care isn’t a one size fits all, and prioritizes client autonomy in her work.

Courtney has achieved certifications in several evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. She specializes in working with folks with disabilities, those who have experienced racial trauma, suicidal thoughts and ideation, and challenges with navigating interpersonal relationships. She has experience supporting queer folks, BIPOC youth and young adults, post-secondary students, and Black women.
